Abstract:
Patients with sarcomas face certain challenges including symptoms like pain, psychological challenges like coping with loss of limbs or function, amongst many others. They may be of all ages, and require intensive support during their disease journey. Palliative care improves the quality of life of patients and that of their families who are facing challenges associated with life-threatening illness, whether physical, psychological, social or spiritual. In this presentation, with 2 case scenarios, palliative care for patients with sarcoma will be discussed, including any research on the palliative care of such populations.
