Dr. Calvin CHIU is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon with interests in orthopaedic oncology and joint arthroplasty. He is an Associate Consultant of Orthopaedics & Traumatology at Prince of Wales Hospital and Hong Kong Children Hospital. He is also an Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He joined the Department of Orthopaedic & Traumatology at Prince of Wales Hospital in 2006 after obtaining the medical degree from the University of Hong Kong. He was admitted as a fellow in Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2014.
He is a core member of orthopaedic oncology team and sarcoma multi-disciplinary team in Prince of Wales Hospital since 2014.
He received post fellowship training in renowned orthopaedic oncology units at Royal Orthopaedics Hospital, Birmingham, UK and Jishuitan Hospital, Beijing, China in 2016.
He is a member of International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS) and Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (APMSTS).
His clinical interests include surgical treatments and reconstruction solutions on benign musculoskeletal tumor, GCT of bone, soft tissue & bone sarcoma. He is an advocate of using computer navigation, patient specific instrument and customized patient specific endoprosthesis in the field of orthopaedic oncology.
